Miss Venezuela wins Miss Universe 2008 Title

July 13th, 2008 · No Comments

article-universe-2008  Miss Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe 2008 at the 57th edition of the Beauty Pageant live from Nha Trang, Vietnam.

An overjoyed  Dayana Mendoza received the crown from her predecessor, Riyo Mori of Japan. The 22 year old who was once kidnapped in her native country, has said that the experience has taught her to remain poised under pressure, and she certainly did tonight in her dazzling strapless yellow evening gown. FabInTheCity thinks he must bring back yellow this summer…

Miss Colombia was first runner up in the competition.

Miss USA falls again

July 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Miss-USA-2008 As mentioned earlier, For the second year in a row, Miss USA fell during the Evening Gown Competition. You would think Americans never walked in heels before… However, this year’s Miss USA Crystle Stewart just laughed it up and even applauded herself, unlike Rachel Smith last year who seemed near tears.

We really feel bad for her, but I must say it sure gave me a good giggle. We’ll  let you see it for yourself at this link: stay off the heels honey

Latinas Fabulous

July 13th, 2008 · No Comments

venezuela Four of the top 5 Miss Universe finalist are from Latin Countries. Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela join Russia to make up the top 5

My 3 favourites, Venezuela, Mexico and Colombia made it past the Evening Gown portion with some of the highest scores, and in my opinion, Mexico was the best at answering the question during the last portion, but the beauty of miss Venezuela is breathtaking. Who will it be? stay tuned…

On a side note, Miss USA continued on last year’s tradition and slipped during the evening gown competition, while she graciously got up and applauded herself, one can’t help but wonder, what is the matter with these girls, in a nation where fashion and glamour is so revered, it is quite ironic that in front of the world, they just can seem to stay upright. i’m sure it will be all over youtube shortly, and we will post the link for you

madonnabookcover__opt1 On July 14th, Christopher Ciccone will launch his new book, Life with my sister Madonna. Christopher who often worked with Madonna throughout her career, no longer collaborates with her, and that situation, along with Madonna’s husband, Guy Ritchie, seems to have made him a bit bitter and it shows in some of the book’s preview, revealed by The Mail on sunday   see it here

this excerpt would make you think that their relationship was over quite a while ago, but FabInTheCity, knows first hand that as recent as less than two years ago, Christopher was still talking highly of Madonna’s shows. While in Miami for the Confession tour in 2006, I ran into Christopher at Social Miami at an event co-hosted by Christopher , Ingrid Casares and Perez Hilton in honor of Madonna’s tour and

Sex was good

sex city

It was quite a success… and to my surprise, I even enjoyed the movie.

more than 390 guests enjoyed swag bags, kindly donated by Pritchard Packaging Inc, a silent auction, and Sex and the City: The Movie.

Surrounded by Ladies in  sky-high stilettos in the theatre, out for the ultimate girls’ night out it was an interesting night. Mocktinis served compliments of Jazz’Oo and “One” tasty treat courtesy of Le Cordon Bleu helped kick off an event .  One lucky winner even walked with a Tacori Circle of Life diamonds-and-gold pendent from La Maison D’Or.

The party continued at Jazz’oo where guests savoured themed martinis, the sounds of live jazz by Mellow Dee and even a little dancing.  The night ended with an entertaining Best Shoe contest where four lucky ladies took home some excellent prizes from La Mode Hair Studio, Jazz’Oo, Hotel Indigo, The Bay and HUSH to name a few. Congratulation Starfish Events and to all who showed up for making this event a huge hit!  The event raised tons of money for a local Breast Cancer charity .
